Abstract

In the translation of the electric drive traction from a direct current to the variable, converters are required that can operate both from the DC network and AC. A universal circuit of an electronic converter with forced communication of valves is considered, allowing to supply the electric locomotive with constant and alternating current. When powered from AC power, the operation of the converter with a shear coefficient varies in a wide range - from lagging to advanced. The losses of the voltage and contact network are determined in different ways of controlling the converter and it is shown the possibility of controlling the converter, which ensures voltage stabilization on the pantograph.
