Preliminary analysis of thyristor circuit breakers for capacitor battery switching.
Abstract
The possible schemes of thyristor switches for switching capacitor banks are considered. Using the concept of specific installed AC power, a preliminary assessment of the efficiency of these circuits is made. It is shown that the most economical circuit for switching capacitor banks consisting of three-phase capacitors is a circuit with two thyristor switches in the phase conductors. Recommendations on the use of various circuits in electrical networks are given.
