Abstract

In this paper, a simulation model for evaluating the effect of application of a project management methodology is proposed. The model reflects performance of project product creation processes and management processes.
This model is constructed by extending simple Petri nets apparatus and simulates the work of project team, which is
engaged in software development. The team consists of four people. Three of them are universal specialists, and the
fourth is a tester. One member of the team performs the functions of Scrum master. The algorithm of project implementation modeling is offered. Petri net modeling carried out by using an algorithm that implements the event method. For
representation of the network was introduced a special type of matrix. The proposed simulation model allows estimating the time required to create software and cost of such development. The obtained time and cost of the project take
into account project management methodology that is used. It is possible to select the most appropriate methodology
according to these criteria by modeling project implementation with an application of several alternative management
methodologies.
