Mathematical modeling of the temperature field of the windings of a power transformer.

Abstract

A method is proposed for determining the temperature field of a winding without specifying heat transfer coefficients. The distribution of heat in the winding when flowing it with transformer oil in the vertical and horizontal channels occurs due to thermal conductivity and convection. The thermal state of the winding and oil is described by the corresponding differential equations with boundary conditions. A joint solution of these equations on a mathematical model allows us to determine the temperature field of both the winding and the oil. Due to the large inhomogeneity of the medium, due to its thermophysical properties, the equations were solved on a combined model of electrically conducting paper and an R-grid. The obtained results confirm the correctness of the proposed calculation methods and the specification of boundary conditions.
