Abstract

A synchronous motor with a frequency of 50 Hz and a synchronous generator with a frequency of 150 Hz are combined in one magnetic system. The rotor has special pole tips and excitation coils, fed by direct current, connected according to a scheme that provides alternating polarities of pronounced N - N - S - S poles, etc. The article provides an analysis of testing a prototype with an output power of P₂ = 4000 W and cos φ₂ = 0.8. Curves of voltage and current of the generator winding sinusoidal with idling and load. Internal voltage drop is 40-50% Un. The voltage at the terminals of the generator winding can be constant when using the automatic system of regulation of efficiency. The converter is at the level of industrial types of machine converters, and overall dimensions are much smaller than the sizes of two machine units. The converter provides the input voltage of stable frequency with the leading power factor of the motor winding. Start is carried out in the usual way. It is recommended as a source of three-phase alternating current of frequency 150 Hz of medium and high power. Tab. 2, ill. 5, Bible. 9.
